Huntsville Alabama’s largest earmark provides $1.5 million to help Madison County stream line law enforcement records. Another gives the city $1.1 million for work at Madison County Executive Airport. $190,000 goes to the Huntsville Museum of Art and $400,000 to the National Children's Advocacy Center. Another $175,000 is set aside for the Madison County Drug Court. 17 other projects for Huntsville Alabama include $800,000 for weather research by the University of Alabama in Huntsville, $500,000 for exhibits at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. $1.6 million will go to an intermodal center at UAH and $1.4 million for an intermodal center in Cummings Research Park.
The transportation act also includes $274,000 for a tram to link the Space & Rocket Center to the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Shelby's news release says this will allow "tourists convenient access to both attractions."
