Do you miss drive-in movies and picnics? Then stop by one of Huntsville’s most beloved summer traditions, Classic Movies in the Park! On select Friday’s throughout the summer, the Museum shows classic movies on our west patio in Big Spring Park. We’ll kick off the 2011 CMIP season on Friday, May 13 with the timeless Disney Classic Mary Poppins. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and their own picnic snacks. Or maybe consider stopping by Pane e Vino before the movie to pick up a delicious pizza to go! Come by at dusk to snag the best seats. All movies begin at sundown, typically between 7:30 – 8:30 pm throughout the summer. Classic Movies in the Park are FREE and open to the public! Since Classic Movies in the Park is an outdoor event, sometimes the weather will prevent us from showing a movie. We will try our best to hold every movie on the date we advertised. If a movie is canceled we will post that information here by 1:00 pm CST the date the movie was to be shown. Summer 2011 Schedule July 8: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) July 22: Breakfast at Tiffany’s August 5: Charlotte’s Web (1973)
